Lviv Medical Business Cluster Holds Meeting with High-Level German Delegation

On April 8, a closed working meeting of the Lviv Medical Business Cluster with a German delegation, led by Johann Saathoff — Parliamentary State Secretary of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development — took place at the Lviv City Council.

The event brought together representatives of leading German companies, including Bayer, Siemens, PwC, KfW, German Eastern Business Association, KPMG, Luther, Dräger, GFA, and others, as well as Ukrainian healthcare entrepreneurs, city officials, and relevant parliamentary representatives.

Dialogue Between Ecosystems

The purpose of the meeting was to establish direct dialogue between the Ukrainian and German medical business sectors, discuss potential areas of collaboration, and present Lviv’s opportunities as one of the key centers for healthcare development in Ukraine.

During the event, participants from both the cluster and the German delegation gave short presentations, allowing both sides to better understand each other’s expertise and outline prospects for partnerships.

Potential of the Lviv Medical Cluster

Today, the Lviv Medical Business Cluster unites over 25 members, approximately 70% of which are private medical centers and dental clinics. This structure reflects the high level of development of the healthcare sector in Lviv.

In total, the region has over 1,200 medical centers, more than 100 of which are associate members of the cluster.

In addition, the ecosystem includes public organizations, companies specializing in the digitalization of medical business, as well as startups developing innovative solutions, particularly using artificial intelligence in healthcare.

A separate focus of the cluster is the development of medical tourism. In particular, a platform of medical check-up programs was presented, aimed at attracting foreign patients to Lviv for preventive health examinations.
